Following the resounding success of the First Crypto Art gathering in Venezuela in 2022, which attracted the participation of more than 150 artists and stood out as a global exhibition window, we are excited to extend the invitation to artists from all disciplines and corners worldwide to participate in the open call within the framework of the second edition.

This event, which promises to exceed expectations, will offer even more global exhibition opportunities, and artists will have the opportunity to take part in physical and digital exhibitions in two prestigious museums: Museo del Diseño y la Estampa Carlos Cruz Diez in Caracas, Venezuela, and the Coral Gables Museum in Miami, USA. We especially invite submissions of original and unpublished digital artworks for the exciting opportunity to collaborate with Sur NFT, a community of artists with the mission of connecting cultures through contemporary and innovative expressions, and Space Art, a certified virtual showcase that emerged in March 2021, backed by visionary entrepreneurs and based on blockchain technology, with smart contracts that facilitate the traction and commercialization of digital works in NFT format.

On this occasion, under the theme “Digital Kinetics: Exploration of Movement in the Digital Era,” we seek to pay tribute to kinetic art through digital innovation. We encourage artists to explore the power of movement, transformation, and immersive experiences in their digital works. Kineticism, a trend in the arts that challenged the paradigms of sculpture and static painting, inspires this call, offering artists the unique opportunity to integrate cutting-edge technology as a valuable tool to experience movement in ways never before expressed.

We invite artists to join us on this exciting journey of artistic discovery, where the convergence of technology, art, and culture redefines the boundaries of digital creativity.

In general terms, Kineticism is characterized by sharpening and stimulating vision through optical illusion and movements, highlighting depth, light, shadow, and striking colors, with a three-dimensional approach that gives the sensation of movements. A work of Kinetic Art goes far beyond an element of decoration. It represents a philosophy, a more profound worldview, and an interaction with the viewer.

Over time, kinetic art has evolved and expanded in new directions. In the beginning, it focused on the physical movement of the works. However, today, kinetic art merges with digital art, using projections and interactive displays to create immersive visual experiences. This expansion has allowed artists to explore kinetics with new communication and artistic expression forms. Our purpose is to highlight the evolution of art in the digital age, fusing technology with creative vision to evoke sensations of fluidity and change. We encourage you to delve into animated, interactive images or any digital media that captures the essence of movement and dynamism.

We seek to curate a collection that celebrates the legacy of kinetic art, pushing it toward the digital frontier. We invite submissions that challenge, provoke, and hypnotize, leading viewers to contemplate the convergence of art, technology, and perpetual motion in todays digital age.

PARTICIPATION RULES

National and international artists can participate from anywhere in the world.
Deadline: March 14 to July 30, 2024, 11:59 pm.
Have a profile on Spaceart.
Participate with any technique, exploring movement and transformation in digital art.
Send a digital work in: Photography, Video art, Painting, Drawing, Mixed technique or Sculpture.
The work must not be published on any platform.
If it is GIF or MP3, also present the cover in PNG for graphic mention.
Respected jury committee; Your decision is irrevocable.
Participation cost: $45.
Send biography for registration.
The jury will rate the participating pieces considering: Composition, Integration of the theme, originality, Innovation, Creativity, Technical Skills, as well as the Impact and Commitment of the work with the viewer.
Worldwide exhibition through networks and a room in the metaverse that will be created exclusively for this collection.
Interviews as part of the event's marketing campaign before, during and after scheduled exhibitions.

BENEFITS

30 works will be selected, which will be taken to a printed format of 40 x 60 cm / 16" x 24" for be part of the physical exhibition scheduled in room 8 at the Carlos Cruz Diez Museum of Design and Prints in Caracas, Venezuela. They will be exhibited in digital format in cultural spaces in Miami and Spain. Additionally, they will become a collection of NFTs for sale on the Spaceart platform.
All selected participants will receive a certificate of participation.
OpenEdition's participation in Space Art will be as follows: 40% Artist, 60% Space Art (Includes: Operation Costs, Launch- Promotion of the collection and its selected artists).

1. 1st Place: $500 / Limited collection created on the Space Art platform, with international curatorial advice
2. 2nd Lugar: $300
3. 3rd Lugar: $200 This will be delivered in digital currency, and there will be a jury for the selection,which will be irrevocable.
